Job title: Billing Assistant, 12 month maternity cover

Reports to: Billing Supervisor and Revenue Control Manager

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a personable and accurate Billing Assistant to efficiently and effectively work within the billing team on a 12 month contract.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional services environment, ideally in a law firm, have experience with Elite Enterprise or 3E, and have some VAT knowledge.  You will inspire confidence and be an excellent communicator at all levels, while being organised and accurate with good attention to detail.

 

Areas of focus and responsibilities

  • Managing a busy inbox efficiently and effectively as queries arise
  • Processing bills in Elite Enterprise and soon 3E.
  • Processing write offs as directed by Partners
  • Processing of requested time splits and other time adjustments
  • Liaising with secretaries, Billing Executives and Matter Supervising Partners
  • Matter maintenance using Intapp matter changes such as amending charge out rates, VAT setups etc.
  • Reconciling and recording of third party invoices
  • Reclaiming VAT for counsel fee invoices
  • Processing daily payment runs for third party invoices

Technical skills and experience required

  • Education to minimum 5 GCSE (or equivalent) grade 'C' or above.
  • A minimum of 2 years billing experience in a professional services firm using Elite or a similar accounting package.
  • Some VAT Knowledge
  • Experience with 3E is preferable

  • Good communicator with high levels of interpersonal skills
  • Organised and accurate with good attention to detail

  • Demonstrable team player, with flexible attitude and approach to work and work colleagues
  • Calm and  works well under pressure
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours as and when required (particularly at month end peak billing time)

 

The Details

  • 9.30am to 5.30pm but flexibility is a must, particularly during billing week
  • 12 month maternity cover
  • 12 week probation period
  • 4 week notice period
