The Role

We are looking for a very organised and flexible trainee lawyer (praticante avvocato) or trainee CPA (praticante commercialista) to join our private client and tax department, in Milan. Key elements of the role include:

  • Legal research
  • Document management, review and analysis
  • Assisting in preparing pitches and tenders and in aspects of business development
  • Assisting with client events
  • Produce accurate, high-quality work quickly and efficiently, using the firm's software packages and document management systems
  • Upon request, preparing first drafts of terms of engagement letters; using electronic file opening, ensuring anti-money laundering requirements are adhered to and requesting necessarily Know Your Client documentation
  • Providing effective and proactive communication with clients, legal staff and other support staff, organising meetings, answering the phone, taking messages, managing e-mail, etc.
  • Resolving accounting queries and producing monthly bills using Elite (finance and time recording system)
  • General administrative duties

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent academics (not less than 100/110)
  • Fluent Italian and English communication skills are mandatory (English proficiency equal to a C1 is a must)
  • Law or Economics graduate
  • Ideally 6-12 months of prior work experience in tax (we will consider prior experience in private client and wealth management)
  • Enthusiastic and engaged attitude with excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Teamwork is vital and you will often work alongside with colleagues in our overseas offices
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. Word & Excel)
