Our team helps successful families and entrepreneurs around the world structure their assets in a way that will preserve their wealth now and for future generations.  We advise on all aspects of wealth structuring, using domestic and international trusts and foundations, private trust companies in local as well as offshore jurisdictions and we co-ordinate the acquisition of appropriate investments. 

Our clients are international families with family members who are living across the world and have UK connections and want to understand their tax exposure and where possible engage in planning to mitigate it. 

Role Overview

We are seeking a UK-qualified Associate to join our Private Client & Tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value matters, advising clients on UK tax issues, estate planning, and international tax considerations. You will collaborate closely with partners and senior lawyers, delivering exceptional client service and contributing to the growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on UK income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax for individuals and trusts
  • Advise on the UK tax treatment of family investment companies, family limited partnerships and other potential investment holding structures.
  • Support tax planning for international clients, including domicile and residency issues.
  • Draft wills and trusts as well as supplemental deeds and documents relating to clients' succession plans.
  • Conduct legal research and contribute to group knowledge and know-how initiatives.  

Skills and Requirements

  • Be an England and Wales qualified solicitor with 1 to 2 years PQE in private client & tax.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax law and experience with international tax issues.
  • Strong commercial awareness, financial aptitude and with the integrity to handle highly confidential information appropriately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Organised, conscientious and highly detail oriented.
  • An ability to use your initiative to adapt and think laterally.
  • Enjoy being a team player, with a flexible and can-do attitude and approach.
  • Self-motivated and goal focused, you will enjoy change and variety, and thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters pro-actively and meet deadlines.
